Aahana Magnotta +Many would expect a prodigal to be a wild, savage thing with little in the way of self possession and persuasiveness. They have not yet met Aahana. In the battlefield of politics, tribal or of The Compact, with calm and steady grace Aahana slaughters weak talking points and irrational emotions in her enemies with a deep well of knowledge that she dispenses with enrapturing words and a charming smile. She pursues what she and her house wants like this, though she is not above being pragmatic and relenting when she sees the need to. She is quite flexible and patient, willing to wait and change her approach to succeed. But that is business. She is not just a woman of business, but a woman of pleasure, who enjoys with a passion the pleasure of arts, whether creating songs through her voice or enjoying songs with her body. And not only is pleasure found in the the art of the deal or the arts, but also the art of love; she enjoys her flirting just as passionately as she loves the arts.  +
Aahana Malvici +Many would expect a prodigal to be a wild, savage thing with little in the way of self possession and persuasiveness. They have not yet met Aahana. Aahana Volkov +Many would expect a prodigal to be a wild, savage thing with little in the way of self possession and persuasiveness. They have not yet met Aahana. In the battlefield of politics, tribal or of The Compact, with calm and steady grace Aahana slaughters weak talking points and irrational emotions in her enemies with a deep well of knowledge that she dispenses with enrapturing words and a charming smile. Aaron Blackburn +It wouldn't be wrong to call Aaron Blackburn an optimist with a penchant for sarcasm and the distinctive ability of keeping others at arms' length while appearing to welcome them close. He's been dealt some hard knocks by life but bounced back with wry humor intact. He's got an explorers eye for fashion, and a daring that has been forcibly transmuted into his tailoring, and a leftover romanticism from his days adventuring under the employ of the Ashfords.  +
Abbas Thrax +The Thraxian Warlord has come from the bottom to rise to lead the greatest fleet Arvum has ever known. He is determined and dedicated in all that he does. Often he carries himself in grimdark determination and is an unshakable force. Sometimes he is brooding and lost in the weight of blood that has spilled under his leadership. And rarely amongst select individuals he smiles and fosters some warmth.  +
Abby Laurent +Exhuberant without being overbearing and at times imaginative to a fault. Abby surrounds herself with a surprising amount of energy and light for someone who worships a Goddess of death. Rarely is she without a smile or a curiosity to her gaze, which paired well with her attentive mind. She is empathetic and open, always one to lend an ear to troubles or a soft voice toward comfort. It serves her exceptionally well in her practices with funerary rites and working alongside the mourning.  +
Abellus Ironfoot +Abellus Ironfoot grieves for his father, Tuscak Ironfoot, who has been vilified by the Oathlanders to justify his trial and subsequent death. He has bended on knee not because he wanted to join the Compact but becuse he chose life over death. He is his brother's protector and will make sure that whatever hell comes their way, he will protect what's left of his family, even if it means serving the one that arrested him.  +
Abigail Lyonesse +Abigail's personality tends to be a bit on the serious side, at times she may be playful and sweet but more then likely she is right to the point. Though some have said she has an attitude, not that she feels that way.  +
Acacia Culler +Acacia embodies all that the sea can bring. The majesty of the vast waters, the treacherous weather, the unsurpassed beauty. She loves the poetry of how well she fits with that, and uses that to her advantage, whether it is fighting off pirates, negotiating business, or drawing people in to hear her tales of adventure. She loves the freedom her chosen life offers her, and loves that even nobles seek her out to procure something or other. She's quick with a knife and quicker with her tongue and has no shame in tearing someone down that deserves it. Prone to act before completely contemplating the consequences, Acacia has a remarkable ability to turn any situation around to suit her.  +
Acantha Clearlake +Acanthas personality can change just as easily as the weather does. Shes slow to anger, easy to make smile and very rarely is a venomous person. If she starts throwing things then its time to run away. Shes curious of new things. Wanting to learn more as she gets older, but she doesnt try to push herself into others business. She grew up in a heavily Shamanistic family, but since joining the Compact and bending the knee to Halfshav, shes been learning more about the Pantheon and things of that nature. Shes a quirky sort of woman all things considered with her past and how she was raised.  +
Achard de Ange +A quiet, reserved man of subtle humor and sharp eyes, he seems slow to anger despite being always ready to act. Neither haughty nor humble, there is the confidence of the competent evident in his steps and stances, the hint that he has met threats and beaten them. It is not a braggart's posturing and boisterous noises, but only a quiet stare declaring his lack of fear and his determined path. There is kindness in his eyes at times, though, and a straightforward honesty that might evidence his commitment to the ideal of chivalry.  +
Aconite Fidante +Attentive and sly. She has a curious nature and a self assured fearlessness for finding things out. She may not be the most attention grabbing person in the room but she can still weave a alluring mystique to draw someone's attention should she want it. Aconite listens more than she speaks in social settings and can be quite affable when the situation permits. ON occasion she is taken by a sullen fugue and refuses to talk to anyone at all but it all melts away within a few days and the young Courtier blooms back into socialble.  +
Aconite Unknown +Attentive and sly. +
Adalbern Rimeheart +At first glance, Adalbern doesn't exactly look like the most approachable type and his blunt directness can put others off. Those who get to know him however, soon come to learn that he's a man that takes pleasure in the simple things in life, and while rough around the edges, his words are honest and once his loyalty is earned, it's nigh unshakeable. On the whole, he's slow to anger, enduring much before provoked, and it's a good thing as well. Once his anger is roused, it burns hot and unceasing, and on the battlefield a berserker's rage rises to the fore.  +
Adalmus Nightgold +If one were to embody calm and charming, it would be Adalmus. An air of relaxation and aloofness exudes from this man, likewise, hes gaze about the area shows a deep intelligence to him, far more keen than most would sense. He generally gazes upon all things with wonder as well as scrutiny. From the enemies he castigates to the friends he vehemently defends. A dramatic and reactive creature, Adalmus is a man of great enjoyment of pleasures to all of the senses. He can be tempestuous and difficult to control, but his loyalty to his family is paramount.  +
Adalyn Clement +Bright, cheery and desperate for a crowd. Adalyn loves fighting with her swords as much as she loves telling stories about the tale afterwards. There's almost no limit to the kind of grandiose showboating that she's inclined towards. Her journey on horseback from Artshall to Arx in particular is full of wild stories of the people (and creatures, if you would believe her) that she met along the way. Treasures found! Damsels saved! Maybe even some princes saved, wink wink. Many would say this isn't very Oathlander of her and some would even say she's making these things up. And she might be, it's hard to tell. She's so enthusiastic about it all. She's the first to jump in to champion others in honor duels, eager to display how quick and light she is on her feet. How she can be the one to get in the first blood. She's also the first to volunteer herself for crazy expeditions and adventures, the more dangerous, the better. It's possible that this is all a bid to prove herself or perhaps she's just an adrenaline junky that loves the rush. Either way, if you're looking for a companion on the road, pick Adalyn. Or she'll just come along anyway, how would you stop her?  +
Adder Trahir +Adder presents an aura of self-possession so polished and gentlemanly that one might almost fail to detect the arrogant core that powers it. He's understanding, but entirely unsympathetic. He can be charming, even nice - but not kind. Not truly kind.  +
Adelais Savatier +Despite her rather severe looks, Adelais isn't always cruel or otherwise unpleasant. She does tend to be a bit reserved, though (although some would qualify her as "dour", if they were being uncharitable). She tends to take her job very seriously, no matter the occasion, with a tendency toward conservatism or caution. Still, she isn't entirely humorless, even if she sometimes gives the impression that she is. If she feels she has the chance to relax, she opens up a little more - becomes warmer - but most of the time, she feels that she needs to keep herself in control. Her family and their fortunes are her motivation and what she strives to protect - occasionally through unsavory means. But if that means that others don't need to dirty their hands, so much the better. She'll do it for them and they - they can continue without worrying. She's seen some of the uglier sides of life and she's accepted it, but she also knows that there's more to life than just her own wants and her own needs. She also doesn't suffer braggarts well - she's run into enough of those in her own training and fighting that she knows those who talk the loudest are usually covering up for something. Or just cruel. Either way, they need to be knocked down a peg.  +
Adelphie Harthall +Adelphie's comrades-at-arms will tell tales of this woman lifting a spiked bludgeon high above her head and watching with ferocity as her enemies are driven before her. Such stories are bookended by narratives of a different flavor: a woman, thoughtful and confident enough to reassure a turned-around child in the marketplace. These parts are not kept separate as some war-hewn paladins need. They exist harmoniously in Adelphie as friends and righteous constants.  +
Ademar Napolitano +Often nicknamed the fox of the Napolitanos due to his gregarious and charismatic nature. To say he is fun-loving and carefree would be just the judgement of the mask. For this man is of many layers and can shift himself whenever the situation calls for it, often showing off that silver tongue of his. Only those closest to him know what lies beneath that smooth exterior.  +
Adora Bell +To the majority of people, Adora is gruff and off-putting. For the most part she is not interested in other people unless they're paying customers. She has little patience for stupidity and has no qualms about letting people know they've gotten on her nerves. She is unfriendly, foul-mouthed, and sarcastic, but she can be charming when the need calls for it. She just tries to make sure it never does. She is not interested in being your friend. She is interested in selling you a bookcase and becoming the best damn carpenter in Arx.  +
Adora Ulbran +To the majority of people, Adora is gruff and off-putting. +
Adrian Beeler +Adrian is a rather socially awkward young man. Relying mostly on situational humor, he often just avoids social interaction all together and stays by himself.  +
Adriana Fieldstone +Bubbly and cheerful, gregarious and kind - she's the 'waitress' sort of girl who always dips by the table with an honest smile and a willingness to help. She hates conflict and will readily take blame for things she wasn't responsible for. Her goal is to see everyone happy, but personally she wants to someday own her own tavern- a place with music, and bread baked fresh that morning, and jams, and fresh milk and cheese. And maybe ale or beer. None of that fancy glass bottled stuff. Just good simple country charm.  +
Adriel Glynn +Though Adriel is inclined to hold himself at a social remove, his earnest decency blossoms past his guard. Candor is a lure for him. Little is more attractive than the outspoken, though he generally tries to keep himself more bottled up. Honor is his ideal, and order is his watchword. These in conjunction can lead him to an approach to life that is overcautious, even overthinking. He is a planner, a thinker, and sometimes the ‘doing’ can pass him by, and he can find himself left behind, watching what should have been his life drifting by past him. The romantic dreamer buried deep behind those pale, clear eyes might only rarely see the light of day, but he’s surely there, living on unspent hopes.  +
Adrienne Pravus +Princess Adrienne is kind. Some wear the mantle of kindness as a sort of social responsibility; others as a cynical necessity. She cares - and persists in caring no matter how much her life has tried to break her of this. To those in her company she brings a compassionate ear to console and warm wit to cheer. Despite this, Adrienne has many fond acquaintances yet few close friends. Devout, dutiful, and steadfast - at times to a fault - Adrienne works hard at whatever she is set to do. She has studied music under masters in gilded, high-vaulted chambers. She has tilled fields when winter illness has left a village too shorthanded to do so for the spring. The trappings of royalty are a blessing; she would use her influence to repay the world a thousand times over for this gift.  +
Adrienne Valardin +Princess Adrienne is kind. Some wear the mantle of kindness as a sort of social responsibility; others as a cynical necessity. She cares - and persists in caring no matter how much her life has tried to break her of this. To those in her company she brings a compassionate ear to console and warm wit to cheer. The trappings of royalty are a blessing; she would use her influence to repay the world a thousand times over for this gift.  +
Aeden Grayhope +Intensely curious, Aeden's sense of boundaries can be overshadowed by his excitement at the prospect of learning something new. It is almost always an eagerness born of innocent inquiry, but the comfort of those subjected to it cannot always be said to feel the same. He is always trying to learn, which has him often approach people with questions, making him affable, if not always welcomed. A colorful youth has left him a bit wisdom for his age, a sharp mind and wit keeping him from more perilous encounters initiated by his inquisitive tongue.  +
Aedin Blackwood +Charming, approachable, amiable. Enter Aedin's presence is akin to stepping into the summer sunshine. She has a knack for welcoming people without so much as a word. Her considerable skill for sounding out the tone of a room or a gathering has led some in the Blackwood family to claim she's blessed by intuition. Her sensitivity is considerable -- for not reading a situation right can be a disaster. Smoothing over difficulties demands a certain special knowledge of personalities, and she has the patience to tease out exactly what she needs. Northlanders may have a reputation for short tempers and not tolerating fools, but she doesn't live up to that standard. Her silken words and exquisite manners can usually disarm southerners or Abandoned alike, and once they are willing to deal, then the real work begins. But she suffers no fools behind her smile. Withholding contempt for liars and dishonourable behaviour, she'll do what she must to get the work done, leaving an opening for others to exploit. But much, much better to have others in her debt. And Aedin never forgets one.  +
Aedric Blackshore +Aedric takes great care to show empathy and respect to men and women from all walks of life, no matter their heritage or occupation. Curious by nature, he can often be found in markets inspecting books or foreign goods. Though often perceived as stern by enemies and clients, he frequently smiles and is usually the first to introduce himself when in the presence of strangers. Due to a semi-obsessive attitude toward record keeping, the sailor maintains a ledger on his person to record a wide variety of important dates, names, values, drawings, and observations. At sea, or when matters are of some personal significance, his countenance may be perceived as unflinching and austere.  +
Aela Velenosa +Aela is quick-witted and perceptive, with a love for playfulness and fun. Generally friendly and easy-going, Aela likes to enjoy life and do things at her own pace, while being responsible of course. She is incredibly loyal to those close to her and will do anything in their defense. Although usually relaxed, she is intense when serious and can be ruthlessly cold to those who have wronged her. Aela adores music and will always hum, sing, and play instruments whenever she can.  +
Aelgar Navegant +Intelligence and curiousity are often the things most people notice first about him. A more perceptive observer might note his common sense and consistently calm demeanor. He seems to act more from duty and considered thought than from emotion, although he is typically quick to laugh and to care. There is footloose streak to him as well, a restless need to search and learn.  +
Aelius Mercier +Calm and relaxed, Aelius is a methodical person, usually taking bold decisions when faced with a challenge. Somewhat stubborn, he is very willful and disciplined.  +
Aella Ravenseye +Aella embraces change but often struggles to adapt to it. She is a passionate woman whose stubborn pride can be a hurdle to overcome; however, that pride is well-earned. The countess is a fierce advocate for her people and is easy to upset with blatant (or perceived) slights against them. The less generous may call her volatile, but she is loyal to the end once someone has won her trust, is driven to accomplish goals and help others do the same, and has quite the talent for questionable limericks. If there is an opportunity to shed formality and laugh into the night with a drink in hand, a friendly challenge to accept, or an adventure to be had, she'll be there. She is more comfortable at sea or in nature, finding the city too rigid, and in the midst of a storm is when she appears the most calm.  +
Aerandir Elensar +Though Aerandir may strike one as a gruff, jaded man upon first glance, those who work their way into his good graces - whether through time, effort or simply by nature of being likeable - will quickly notice that he is not without manners, nor joviality; jests, lopsided grins and laughter coming easily enough in the right company. His military bearing, however, is distinct and ever present, a habit yet to die by the looks of it: as evidenced by Aerandir's shift in personality in the presence of gentry, a respectful, almost meek demeanour often taking over.  +
Aerwan Valardin +For some it can be said that they might be a wolf in sheep's clothing. For Aerwan Valardin, the more appropriate turn of phrase may be a fox in dragon's scales. Oathlander values have been instilled in the man almost to the bone: stalwart discipline, courtesy and chivalry, a sometimes stark sense of right and wrong, and a reverence for the Pantheon, like an armor forged in the principles of his forebears. While many of his family wear these traits as heavy plate, Aerwan's ingots of ideals have been refined and hammered down into a flowing mantle of steelsilk, airy and relaxed in their donning like a comfortable cloak. Yet every so often his facets of individuality glint through to tint its shades: an inclination toward idealistic naivety, an almost youthful appreciation for mirth and mischief that is reined in tightly, and a keen inquisitiveness in much of the world around him that couldn't be entirely penned up if he tried.  +
Aerwyna Froic +Aerwyna is an introvert but she does value friendship that is genuine. She is kind to a fault, helping how she can but attempts to do so within reason after being taken advantage of. She has goals but they are a work in progress given her age but ultimately she wants to be well-known for being a good seamstress and wishes to learn from the best and to be molded. She is family oriented, having come from a large family.  +
Aery Ashford +Aery is generally friendly to people, whether she's known them for a long them or only just met them. A very outgoing personality and a very positive outlook towards the world, loves to socialize with people though she is known to lean towards shyness at times. Her emotions and what she thinks tends to be easily red from her face.  +
Aeryn Laurent +Aeryn is as saccharine sweet as they come with an energy level best described as high voltage. Her personality rings of youth and innocence and naivety and rarely is there a moment when she is not bubbly and positive. There is no hint of darkness to her and not even those that know her well will ever say there's a shred of cruelty or malice within her. She is gentle, through and through.  +
Aethan Kennex +Aethan is a man who lives always by a strict code of honor that he'd die before he broke, but he's also a man with demons. A moody, sometimes violent perfectionist who can only see his mistakes, he has a lot to feel guilty about, and a lot to regret. Like a good man of Thrax, he keeps all of these feelings bottled up, and the face he shows to the world is composed, with a noble bearing that inspires respect, if not love. He speaks with a scalpel, never wasting an extraneous word. On the very rare occasions when the darkness within him break through, Aethan can turn into a cruel and dangerous man... which leaves him with even more to repent, when the spell passes.  +
Agatha Redrain +Some call Redrains Bears, and if they are bears, Agatha is the roar of their voice. Blunt, brash and powerfully alive, it's almost impossible to miss when Agatha enters any given room because she's just such a loud and vehement woman. It's not that she rejects the panoply of civilization -- indeed, she can enjoy a good show as much as the next fellow -- but she tends to become part of performances; an entire audience's worth of applause in one hearty woman, whole dialogues with exclamation points for every sentence, a laugh that could shake a mountain to its root. To get in Agatha's way is to simply be trampled, and the fact of the matter is, it's not entirely sure that she'd notice she'd done it. Sometimes the shortest distance between two points is a war, but honestly Agatha might even prefer it that way.  +
Agnarr +Generally taciturn and seemingly devoid of a sense of humor, Agnarr keeps largely to himself, at least on the surface, pragmatically earning his coin through the profession of arms. He expresses a deep faith in the spirits and an unyielding nature: his appearance is apt, considering his temperament.  +
Agnarr Frost +Generally taciturn and seemingly devoid of a sense of humor, Agnarr keeps largely to himself, at least on the surface, pragmatically earning his coin through the profession of arms. He expresses a deep faith in the spirits and an unyielding nature: his appearance is apt, considering his temperament.  +
Agostino Alonso +An affable and self-effacing man, Agostino is a good listener if not perhaps the best confidante in general, given his reputation and chosen career. Though incredibly inquisitive, he is not easily distracted once he becomes focused on something, though he adapts easily to finding ways around obstacles that stand between him and what he seeks. In spite of the way many in the city might view him, he has a strong loyal streak, though few have ever gotten to know him well enough for that to show.  +
Agric Leary +Meticulous and stoic to a fault, Agric is mostly a silent man with a deep love for the sciences of psychology, philosophy and law. So much so that getting him to speak with much energy about anything else is a rare occasion. In particular, Agric is not one that is quick to jump to emotional states like anger or sadness. At least, not without being certain he has the full picture of what might drive in that direction. This is certainly a man who is well guarded in everything he does. All of that guarded state of being, the stoic and almost cold way of handling others, when you get past it, there is so much more. Hints of some deeper desire, some obscure drive that he speaks very little of. Still, everything he does -is- with purpose. He applies that purpose even to the arts. Where many would expective free-flowing creativity, Agric is focused on creating the perfect form. He's learned all sorts of mediums and he's not satisfied until he's mastered them, and he's always, always searching for something new.  +
Ahmar Nightgold +Ahmar is a quiet man, but not unkind. As a child he always felt he did not have much of a place in his family as everyone seemed so much more socially inclined and far more intelligent than he, so he often found himself turning inwards for solace when he felt overwhelmed. It wasn't that his family was unkind to him, by far the opposite, he has just always been rather introverted. Tending to get along with his animal companions more than people. Despite his introverted personality, he really does like meeting new people, he just becomes a bit nervous like he is worried he won't know what to say and will end up making a fool of himself, but those who he ends up calling friends, he becomes devoted to. There is nothing he wouldn't do for those that are nice to him. Especially his family.  +
Ahriman Grayson +Towards his family Prince Ahriman was known as a loving father and husband. Among the extended family he was amiable but less open. And to those not in his close circle he could be seen as cold if not a bit distant. Now that he is returned from many trials and tribulations the man seems a little more cold and distant. Perhaps reuniting with his family will thaw him from his ordeal.  +
Ahrsen Damane +Gruff and serious, Ahrsen does not take crap from anyone, noble and commoner alike. He is not overly friendly with anyone, strangers will betray you and friends are even more likely to do so. The big man is all about intimidation, size and speaking few words. This Laconic attitude serves him well, allowing him time to negotiate conversations and to avoid conflict. Despite his size and rough exterior, he is not rash or quick to anger.  +
Ahven Granger +Bold to the point of brashness, Ahven's audacity is both the impetus that propels her through life, and her greatest hindrance. She wants to be a hero, and sometimes this desire puts her at odds with her duties...as well as how headstrong and proud she is. Once earned, her loyalty is fierce and fervent, but that doesn't mean she is immovable. For all her strong opinions, she readily admits when she is proven wrong, and changes her views accordingly.  +
Aibek Grayson +Aibek is cocksure and carefree due to his age and station in life. He doesn't take most things too seriously, and uses humor to de-esculate a situation and as a defense mechanism in dire times. The young Grayson does know what his name means to people, and does take both family and duty quite seriously. Even if is prone to manipulating his siblings and elders with the puppy dog eyes from time to time.  +
Aiden Grayson +Aiden is an extroverted introvert, to put it simply. There will be situations that he'll be a man of few words; words that when they come out, are laconic in fashion. It isn't that he hates people, rather, social situations can grow to be too complex and he loses interest or focus easily - or simply put, he finds them emotionally exhausting. People have far more subtle cues that he doesn't fully grasp, and in large crowds, this is entirely overwhelming for him. Certainly he will turn into a wallflower or simply leave when at his limit.  +
Aiden Rubino-zaffria +Aiden is an extroverted introvert, to put it simply. +
Ailith Ethere +Ailith trusts the gods completely. She may not understand exactly why a young girl from an outside, almost unknown barony, and a commoner at that, is now the personal Seraph to the Crown and royal family in the palace, but she knows the Gods have a plan for her. It doesn't matter that she itches to go into the practice yard, it doesn't matter she doesn't know all the intricacies of court politics and etiquette. All that matters is that the gods use her voice to speak their will, and she submits to their guidance. She truly cares about the spiritual well being of those around her, as well as fighting against the forces of darkness that she knows are out there. As a woman, she's generally happy and finds the good in people when she can, but she is unrelenting when she discovers someone touched by darkness. There is no higher power than the gods, and all fall short in their sight.  +
Ailys Grayson +If there were two words to describe the former princess, they are 'earnest' and 'patient'. Mature beyond her years from the start, she demonstrates remarkable temperance and composure at all times, cut only with the sweetness and joyfulness of one truly treasured by her family. Ailys has rarely lost her temper or even frowned, except perhaps while reading a medical text in poor lighting. She possesses an intense calm, and is sincere in all that she does. A pall was cast over the joy and light Ailys once exuded, however, since the Sack of Bastion. But both are still there, with new underpinnings of steeliness. Somehow, observers note, the former princess's temperament is nobler than ever before.  +
Aindre Grayson +Aindre was raised to measure the success of his life in the strength of his accomplishments and so he shows no small amount of pride in that which he achieves, while admittedly shouldering heavily the disappointment of his failures. Those who know him well understand a fire burns in him not simply to meet the expectations of his family name but to exceed them in much the same way as his forebears exceeded all expectation placed upon them. He can wax fierce in competitions of both politics and swordplay, but carries a reputation for being as graceful in defeat as he is in victory. While capable of deeply serious expressions in his duties toward his family and the honor of their name, his experiences off the battlefield have also taught him when to relax his guard and celebrate.  +
Aine Halfshav +Aine, raised by a Pravus, has all of the charm and wit of any true Southern lady. She can turn a phrase and give a mysterious smile. She is able to flirt and socialize, to be a diplomat when the time calls for it. There is something wilder burning at the core of her soul, however, that she's repressed for a long time.  +
Ainsley Grayson +Genuine in all he does, it seems almost as if Ainsley cannot lie. In truth he simply prefers not to. Finding the pressure of being a political body from his family too much he tends to seek other paths while still doing the Grayson name proud. Politics, lying, and intrigue is far too much effort and work. He would rather throw himself into exhausting physical labor than have to remember what web has been weaved. He would rather be a protector than a rule. There is honor, he finds, in being the guard and the knight. Ainsley takes a straight forward approach to most things. His moods may be mecurial at times but they are all genuine and honest, to be otherwise is too much work.  +
Aisha Inverno +Dutiful, whimsical, and temperamental; those are the three terms that, more often than not, describe Aisha. She almost perpetually lives in a state of distraction and her head seems to always be in the clouds. This causes her to act upon her whims quite often because she believes it will guild her to where she needs to be. She also takes her duties VERY seriously. She does not treat people above or below her station as equals, though, this divide is handled with a kindness that makes it hard to be too upset at how she behaves towards them. Commoners and nobles alike are treated according to their station. That is how it should be, in Aisha's opinion. This often seems at odds with her constantly having her head in the clouds. The contrasting sense of duty and her being lost in thought makes it hard to know what it is she is thinking.  +
Aislin Ashford +Aislin seemingly forgets more than others ever notice, has seen more than others dream of. A dedicated explorer, Aislin is seemingly fearless, having braved the seas of the Morning Isles, faced certain death exploring the icy Northlands, and survived the intrigues of the Lyceum on various expeditions. She's voraciously curious, but not obnoxious - she'd rather discover answers on her own rather than ask questions outright, a trait that makes Aislin an intense conversationalist, to be sure.  +
Ajax Tyde +Quick to laugh, and easy to make smile. Ajax usually can be seen cracking a joke or trying to lighten the spirits of the people around him. Ajax usually plays the part of a strange combat inclined jester when not on an assignment. While he's on an assignment he's polite and to the point with the clientele and seems to keep a positive public relationship towards others in his company. Starkly contrasting with the rare instances where he's provoked to rage. His personality taking an icy chill with barbed words that lead towards fists being thrown.  +
Akamos Cyrto'ani +Akamos is boisterous, gregarious and with a strong streak of personal honour and the need to do right by people. He relishes the opportunity to either demonstrate anything that he may be good at or tell tales of his exploits, but may be guilty of embellishing some of his stories and feats more than a little bit as he seeks approval and recognition from others. That is why he is sometimes overly keen to impress people or help them out in exchange for thanks and he seeks official titles so that everyone knows just how accomplished he is. For as confident as the brash Cyrto'ani may seem, he is in fact deeply insecure as to how he is perceived.  +
Akio Nagamine +It's not thtat Akio is a man without ambitions, but rather that he's a man with too many ambitions. He wants to do, see, find something new, and finding, doing, or seeing new things is getting harder and harder to do. So his malaise over this inimical problem appears as one without a desire to do anything at all. Nothing could be further from the trtuh. Around people, Akio is jovial and friendly. He enjoys the distracts from his own brain. In private he can be moody.  +
Aksel Nygard +Aksel is the everyman, the common man. Polite, courteous and compassionate, he has simple wants and needs, and says as much. Not to say that he has a soldierly attitude and personality, he would consider himself more a warrior than a soldier. There's honor and pride in what he does, but also the fact that he's never asked, or wanted for that matter, anything else. Like a slumbering bear, he can be jolly and hearty with friends and merciless and rage-fueled with his enemies. The grand events and gallas of the nobility only effect as much as his personal involvement, which thinkfully, isn't much. Much more inclined to stand in the background and be another face in the crowd. He's never seeked out glory, rather he feels he's just doing his job as a soldier. There's a very aware understand of what he does, and what he does isn't always pleasant and maybe there's a vibe that he feels like if he could set the sword down, and pickup a tool instead, that he would. Grudges and rivalries isn't something he has much time for, nor is what he would call 'political nonsense' that he's usually witness to. No, this is a man who only wants a simple life, but realizes that'll probably not happen for years to come.  +
Alantir Valardin +Reserved in unfamiliar social circles, but always polite and courteous. Charitable to the helpless and downtrodden and usually the first to speak, or draw a blade, in their defense. Brave and selfless in battle. Fiercely loyal to the Crown and its subjects, no matter their status or positions within. Close associates value his thoughtful advice and describe him as an experienced listener.  +
Alaric Grayson +Turns out that having a soul trapped in a horrifying mindscape for years tends to mature someone that was callow and irresponsible. Remarkably, he doesn't seem very haunted by his experiences except in least guarded moments. He's still personable, friendly and warm, with an energy that few can match. There's still hints of the man that deeply wanted to be liked, but with his marriage to Symonesse he seems to have gained much more balance and confidence, and is comfortable with showing restraint and delegating from the top. Very slow to anger, he's learned the lessons of acting rashly or speaking without great care for his actions- rarely one to give offense, nor one to overlook what needs doing.  +
Alarie Harall +Alarie is a witty woman, always with a mischivous smile and a hint of mischief in her eye. She is fun-loving and creative. Having an eye for business and a love for working with her hands, she enjoys her craft as a seamstress and seems to do well by it. She is a strong woman, having her own mindset despite being in a male-driven House. This at times gets her into minor trouble, but she knows how to play along and talk her way out of tricky situations.  +
Alarissa Thrax +It seems that no matter what life throws her way, Alarissa's ambitions remain unshaken: she sees her confidence as a matter of Grayson Pride over mere vanity, and to settle as anything less than legendary would be to do her esteemed blood wrong. Quick to smile and slow to anger, she seems to put her cultured disposition to its best use in making people feel at-ease, though she's developed a bit of a dry wit and can even sound flippant at times. Above all, she seems to harbour a desire to make others know how good she is, even if to do so she must indulge in the occasional white lie or overt act of generosity.  +

Alayne Frost +Time, trial and fallout have turned Alayne into a creature of stygian pragmatism and disinhibition for the plight of others. A pattern of isolated, private behavior sticks to her every notion, and cynicism grips every word with which she speaks publicly, and openly. There's a sense of untapped pride, however, that seems to be the foundation behind her every word when speaking matters of medicine. She's a judgemental, cynical and flawed woman, hard to make friends and even harder at keeping them. She's quick to channel spite when witness to the mundane and more-so to those who profess expertise and come up short when time of action comes. There's a certain depth to her tone of voice, yet remains modulated in nature and silvery to the ear.  +
Alban Farshaw +Take one part Devotee of Limerance and two parts Disciple of Gloria and mix well. Honor, chivalry, and fealty are the things that Alban Farshaw loves the most in life. He holds himself to a strict code of honor and conduct. He takes the laws of fealty as a noble very seriously, as he takes the idea of chivalry. Incredibly steady for a man so young he might come across as stoic to some. He seems to cast an aura of calm around himself through charisma alone. He's a staid and stalwart man.  +
Alberic Laveer +Despite mysterious origins and a strong sense of duty, Alberic is only as complicated as it is required to bridge the gap between nobility and those under Naval Command. To those who would harm others he may appear to have saltwater in his veins, but to those who hold true to law and peace, there's always an open chair at his hearth.  +
Aldwin Aurum +For most, providing counsel and perspective to potential enemies would make someone an enemy themselves, mistrusted and suspect beyond redemption. Aldwin escapes all that, perhaps simply by sheer longevity. Few people could be as devoted to the Realm as a single entity, even beyond the King himself, than the Archscholar of Vellichor. In his eyes, every living, breathing soul has as much right to learn, grow, and succeed as any other, so all that come to him are met with unfailing kindness, wisdom, and a perspective that would not otherwise be considered. He treats young nobles as if they were his own grandchildren, and older ones, well, pretty much the same way. He's not reluctant to call out folly, but does so in a way that edifies, rather than tears down the student he instructs. His only ambition seems the betterment of the Realm and those who walk through his doors.  +
Aldwulf Unknown +Aldwulf likes to come across as having a roguish exterior. He is quick with his hands in pulling tricks, enjoys gambling, and wearing clothes that are well beyond his means. He is quick to drink, likes to appear witty, and has said on many different accounts that he simply wants to be famous and live a life of luxury without having to have some family title to go along with it to bring down all the fun by adding in responsibility. Under it all, Aldwulf has an appreciation for the academic side and is simply a lovable scoundrel. While not quite having a heart of gold, he does care about others and does not wish to do harm to others. In turn, he does really wish to feel loved, though he would never admit it even when put to the rack.  +
Alecstazi Halfshav +Precise. That is a good word to sum up this Thraxian prince. Well mannered, courtly, every movement is thought through, practiced, polished, decorous. He can be charming in a sharp way, his wit dry and sometimes pointed. Not the kind to begrudge an apology if his barb is too sharp, there is, however, an unflinching expectation of station, of behavior and etiquette. When breached he can be frosty and disapproving, proving just how much of his charm is deliberate. To say he is a bit of a traditionalist is an understatement. He is Thrax through and through, to the core.  +

He is Thrax through and through, to the core.  +
Alecto Charon +Beneath an elegant and handsome exterior lurks an academic with a bit of a cowardly streak. Wartime has taken its toll on Alecto's nerves, amplifying a once-abated squirreliness that plagued him in boyhood and now manifesting in frequent hand-wringing and fidgets. Entirely endearing if not sometimes downright comedic, his worrisome nature and the associated preparedness that comes along with it have lead to Alecto being a brilliant improvisor when problems actually do arise. As a result, he has routinely found himself promoted to positions he doesn't feel the least bit qualified for, even if the irrationality of some of his more imaginative concerns have given others reason to doubt his intuition in the past. Although Alecto's true motivations are generally kept private, it can be said that he values his relationships over his achievements, and when something threatens someone he cares about, he has been known to use all the means at his disposal to extinguish that threat.. barring putting himself in actual physical danger, of course! Hahaha! He is gentle and good when his environment allows, but he does recognize that these virtues aren't always compatible with solving certain problems, and he does fancy himself a problem solver.  +
Alejandro Rossetti +A Lycene man of passion and fire, Alejandro puts his heart and soul into all he does. A perfectionist when it comes to his own abilities and actions rather than others, he can tend to obsess over himself in an effort to improve. This may come across as being full of himself or self-important but his intention is always to make himself better. To play his guitar with more skill. As one might expect of both a Lycene and a skilled guitarist he is a charming and suave man. Quick with a witty reply or a smooth remark. Though common, he has spent his life amongst the nobility of House Fidante and it shows in his refinement, grace, manners, and charisma.  +
Aleksei Morgan +It's a wonder that Aleksei hasn't been throttled yet. Bright and gregarious, he can be the life of the party, but he has a remarkable habit of high-level obnoxiousness combined with a frequent inability to even know what he did to piss someone off. That said, he can be quite charming, and there's a draw to his energy. A natural thrill-seeker, he's certainly not a coward; he's just spent most of his life allergic to responsibility. While he likes to eschew his Oathlander roots and all of the stereotypes they involve, he has a core of morality and honesty that belies his protests.  +
Alessan Fidante +Soft-spoken and always smiling, Alessan prefers to stay out of the center of attention as much as he can. Even when performing, he can look as if his mind has wandered off to another place, letting the music take him where it wishes to take him. And it's a good thing too, he'd much rather his music be the focus of another's attention than himself.  +
Alessandro Velenosa +Alessandro has mastered elegance the way artists master their craft, and it shows in everything he does. He pursues knowledge for its own sake, an eclectic, thirsty mind with a keenly energetic spirit behind it, and always has a spare pair of reading glasses in his pocket so that he can take them out and clean them with a monogrammed silk handkerchief. His will is indomitable and contrarian. He is fiercely passionate about his work, and fiercely, intensely protective of his family. He also has a keen sense of the ridiculous, and a deep -- if buried -- ability to recognize his own paradoxes and make fun of himself. But privately, if you please. Dignity is key.  +
Alessia Mazetti +Silk over steel. As tired as the trope may be, and Alessia admits that it is tired, it is nevertheless an appropriate descriptor. Rather than immediately meet opposition with brute force, she prefers to win both friends and enemies over with her charisma, subtle wit, and cultured Lycene refinement. That said, there comes a time when none of those things are the right tool to reach for...  +
Alessio Moretti +Alessio is a calmly jovial and easy-going man with a deep passion for his work, his wife and his hobbies. He is quick to smile, if not outright laugh, and has a natural talent for making people feel comfortable in his presence. He is kind of heart and always ready to help those in need should he have the chance. Beneath the calm exterior there is a burning need to succeed, to become the best at his trade, a fire lighted within him by his father from a young age. He can seem hard to figure out at first, but people who earn his trust and respect will find in him a fiercely loyal friend and a stalwart ally.  +
Alexander Wyrmfang +Alexander is often seen as dark and brooding. More often than not he wears a far off expression, considering some issue of philosophy or the tactics of a long forgotten battle. When focused on the moment, however, he is as sharp as the blade he carries at his side. He isn't one for small talk, and when he speaks he is intelligent and concise, often described as being wise beyond his years. His family and its honor are of the utmost importance to him, and he actively works to bring as much of it as he can not only to the family, but to himself.  +
Alexandre Redtyde +Very much a Wyrmguard, Alexandre exhibits many of the virtues of Oathlands chivalry. Perhaps the strongest among them is the belief that every man, woman and child are worthy of kindness, generosity and dignity, no matter their station in life. It is displayed in his interactions with noble and commonfolk, as Lord and Knight of Solace, protecting travelers and Mercies upon the roads of the Compact. He has a special liking for the latter, sharing many of their ideals despite his more martial path. He takes the duty of protecting them and other practitioners of the healing arts very seriously, and few things anger him more than those who would do them harm. It is there a limit to his mercy and compassion might be found. All must make their choices, and while the occasional bad choice must be forgiven, especially if moved by good intentions, those who willingly choose a path of destruction and hate against their fellows must be stopped. It is fair to say Alexandre is an idealist, if a quiet one. He's not the type to seek the attention of others upon himself, and will usually seek to downplay or redirect admiration towards his person to another, uncomfortable when the subject of praise. Humble, selfless, the Knight of Mercy is a dreamer, one untouched by the horrors of the wars and battles he's waged. The light of hope burns bright within him, and shows no signs of dimming.  +

Alexandros Dawnbringer +Alexandros, templar of Gloria, is convinced that unknowable forces in the world are trying to destroy him. From the beginning of his service to the faith, he was tormented by unfounded fears and nameless terrors that preyed upon his mind. For years, he was able to function more or less normally despite his growing paranoia. As time passed, genuine bouts of panic began to intrude upon his psyche. These bouts lasted longer and longer, paralyzing him for minutes, hours, sometimes even days. Every few years he puts a new name to these forces-- demons, shivs, the smiling shadows or some other identifiable target becomes the imagined source of his fears for a time. He does his best to prove the wrongs of these imagined enemies, and anyone who has even a passing resemblance to the target is persecuted until the next delusion grips him. Occasionally, one can get a glimpse of the kindhearted man he once was.  +
Alexio Donatti +An opportunist in near every aspect of life, Alexio will likely try anything once if he thinks that it will help him, or those that he cares about, get ahead. He is a social creature, and thrives in such environments, as opposed to those where brawn is valued over wits. He enjoys the finer things in life, likely because growing up he did not have any of them. As such, he values that which he has and does not wish to see anything go to squander that he has earned or been given him.  +
Alexis Wyrmfang +Alexis is generally hopeful by nature, with easy smiles and wide-eyed and bright appreciation for the world. She's idealistic to the point of naivete, aspiring to be the very best she can be, and to make her family and house proud in the process. She possesses a deep-set sense of honour and stakes her behaviour on the chivalric code of the Oathlands.  +
Alfio Donatti +A people pleaser and a charmer like most Donatti. Alfio, often, finds himself getting involved in the business of others, and, generally, trying to find a way to help them while benefiting himself. He is, much like his siblings and kin, a determined, cunning, hardworking and ambitious man eager to prove his finesse and make himself known in the world.  +
Alheri Deepwood +She cares. She really does. It's just that reality is disappointing. You talk to someone and there's a flaw in their plan and you're either complicit because you say nothing or a naysayer if you do. Someone's dress is beautiful but a stitch was dropped and that gemstone is just a fraction misaligned and you know they'll laugh at her if you say nothing. Far better to help out. Of course, people are never grateful. They'd rather be laughed at by a thousand behind their backs than told they were wrong to their face. So she takes the brunt of that. It's a heavy burden. And somewhere along the way she started to like it.  +
Alina Redreef +Alina has the knowledge of a vast encyclopedia, and the social skills of the same. Law and gold are quite easy to the lady, but people? People are a puzzle. She struggles, quite visibly, to understand subtleties that virtually all others grasp. She does enjoy company... when company is willing to be found.  +
Alis Valardin +When she first arrived in Arx, Alis had the fervent determination of the very young, seeing matters in clear cut moral absolutes and one who holds chivalric ideals above all else. And while the now older and more experienced woman that she's grown into still holds fast to chavalric ideas, honor, duty, and faith... time, battle, betrayal, and further loss have both tempered her expectations of others and made her even more determined to uphold Oathlands ideals as a good example. That she is over-protective of her family and those under her care is well known, as is the chill of her temper when she's truly risen to anger. But, otherwise, she handles her responsibilities with an even keel, a slightly wry humor, and an eye towards preserving the traditions of her home. If she is a even more somber now than she has been in years past, it is no doubt the weight of duty that she finds herself bearing.  +
Alise Farshaw +A descendant of the youngest sibling in the family which was to hold Westrock Reach, Alise was given a lofty name, modeled on that of Alarice, but instead has grown up only distant cousins from those in the line of succession. This has given her a bit of prickliness about her heritage, making her proud but simultaneously uncertain of her own worth in some lights. She holds a grudge, and polishes it like some might steel. She is quick to laugh and cry, her emotions worn on her sleeve. With minor slights, she can be incredibly forgiving, but anything that reflects poorly on her personal sense of honor is unforgivable. She has a good sense of humor, but dislikes "mean" jokes. She is devoutly faithful, and has a tendency toward charity, when it doesn't infringe on trade.  +
Alistair +Alistair possesses the solemn bearing of a man who refuses to have his path dictated by fickle passions, however deeply felt. His quiet, stern intensity holds little room for joy or despair, having given himself to a fervently pricinpled pursuit of justice to banish the ghosts of his past. The Prodigal has seen the true face of darkness as only one who has lived among the Abandoned could, and it has made him determined to the point of quiet fanaticism. His control over his emotions is beyond masterful. His position in the inquisition causes him face terrible situations, and he is painfully aware that all but a handful of his fellows care little for justice, forcing him to pragmatically attempt to do the best he can with a terribly flawed situation. He can show compassion, when it is right in the sight of the gods, and will do so despite orders if necessary? and especially then. His faith is less an evangelical calling, and more simply so pervasive in his life and mind, that he doesn't need to preach. Every word and deed is a prayer, an offering to the gods that have brought him to Arx, and he squanders neither on proselytizing.  +

Allegra Pravus +Allegra wears her sarcasm and wit like a veil of misdirection, the young woman's love for words and books expertly weaved into sharp cynism that is all the rage in the courts of Setara. The youngest Pravosi has no patience for arrogant fools, but may have a certain weakspot for good-hearted ones, her mercy towards broken things and underdogs derived almost entirely from her father's teachings and an ability to see herself in them. The Pravosi carries herself with the ease of a Setarcan courtier and is renowned for her love for wine, her talent for butchering her rivals with her sharp words, and her kind and gentle demeanor to those less fortunate than her.  +
Alrec Magaldi +A self-confessed hedonist Alrec is not shy about what he wants from the world, and that is all the pleasures it can possibly provide. He tackles life with an exuberance that makes others shy away and has never backed down from a challenge or new experience in his life. But beneath the enthusiasm is a spine of iron, a discipline warrior who's faced death a dozen times and know he'll face it a dozen more. But that veteran warrior is only brought out for exactly as long as it takes to deal with enough business to go back to life's pleasures.  +
Alrigo Donatti +A honey-tongued cousin of the social Donatti brothers, Alexio and Andreas, Alrigo has an independent streak in comparison to the rest of the family. He knew when he arrived in Arx, and after making his first casket of silver, that he needed more. With the family's earnings taking a hit from the distant branch of the family, this left with Alrigo the mark of doing what he needed to in order to bring in casket-after-casket of silver to develop him into being a driven entrepreneur. He is quick to laugh, pearl-white teeth often on show as he talks his way out of problems. Being around Arx and the dockyard, he has begun to play the game of politics and learning whose hand needs to be shaken to get that shipment in. There is that swagger, that smile, that makes avoiding him near impossible when he sets himself to it. Later in life, after setting himself up in Arx from Ischia, Alrigo began expanding his clothing line. Learning the craft while in Arx, since dock work pays so little, ahead of the rest of the Donatti family to set-up shop. For Alrigo, that drive and need to be a success, there will be nothing to stop that business growing. For the Donatti name to be worn by every respectable man in the Compact. For DIE to be the success it needs to be to elevate their reputation.  +
