He has no qualms about blood, and is of the mind that a few acts of hard and severe violence will save trouble down the road. Further still, while not cruel, he enjoys fighting, and killing, and the rush of battle, embodying the traits that give the Thrax their reputation. He's a man's man, and at his heart, a traditionalist, believing that thralls should be kept as thralls, and piracy is a good thing, and if someone is weak or unprepared then they don't deserve to keep what's theirs. He has a quick tongue that lends itself to bloody humour, and at his heart, he's a pragmatist, unafraid to run if the situation calls for it, and always open to new ideas in a military sense. When Jan chose her true self over the life that her title and gender dictated, she made that choice with every fiber of her being, and with no apologies to anyone. Jarel is also mostly a quiet man who prefers to listen to others rather then talking. When he does begin to speak, it is clear he can do it quite artfully and well, as well as capable of holding deep conversations with anyone who wishes too. He also tend to be quite the friendly type as long as the person has not pissed him off. Seemingly it is difficult to pin him as a Noble because he seems to enjoy the simple things in life rather then the luxury of his particular status.
