Reyner was born 34 years ago in the city of Arx to his Father Tobar Grayhope and his fathers mistress Sari Lytton, the young nubile daughter of an officer of the Iron Guard. He was accepted by his Father and raised within the Grayhopes as just any other son. As Reyner was one of the Younger children of his Father, he grew up as many younger siblings do, with a definite sense of hierarchy and the passion to defend himself at any given opportunity. He thus was quite a bit of a hellion with a sense to prove himself to the older members of his family. After alot of involvement with the criminal underworld of the Lower Boroughs as a teen and young man, Reyner fled the city after a slightly botched job to let the heat die down, and joined up with the Valorous Few band as a way to earn money. He took to the mercenary life swiftly and quite well, rising through the ranks over the years to occupy the position of Lieutenant. This turn of events eventually brought him back to the city of his birth with their contract to defend the city, and reunited him with much of his family and friends after years spent away.

Reyner has the appearance of a man a few years older than he really is owing to the "Distinguished" touch of grey thats formed about his temples and peppered sparsely along his chin, most likely the cause of hard and active living over a period of many years. His eyes are a Light Grey flecked with Gold and the rest of his hair a sun-bleached black. He generally favors fine clothing of stylish but not gaudy fashions, with the quality of the material mattering the most. Fine furs, Leathers and even the occasional silk would not be out of place on the man, implying that he spends a significant portion of his money on such things, and more to the point, implying he has a the money at all.

Reyner is a veritable bon vivant, who loves the finer things in life, good wine, good food, fine clothing and fine women. He has a grim sense of humor and a cutting sardonic wit that gives the impression of a tad more going on behind his mirthful eyes than he normally let's on. This all changes when his duties to his men and vocation come a-calling, and he adopts a harsh measure, dutiful, calculated and serious but with a concern for the men under his care that borders the fatherly.
