Kieran was born the third of the Redrain family, after his older silbing the twins, Darren and Deva. While Darren astutely learned the details of ruling a realm and his sister rebelled at attempts to reign her temper in, Kieran struck a balance. He learned how to talk to people, charm them and persuade them. Sure, he continually played pranks on his family, friends, and servants, and he was always finding ways to cause trouble, but his silver tongue was always able to mollify any retribution, and the fact that he was also keeping up with studies and knew when to behave himself properly in court, meant they couldn't be angry at him too much. Kieran does not mind that Darren is the one that leads the family. It means so much more focus is placed on him and his actions. Kieran, on the other hand, can still maintain some of his antics, and still pass the laxer scrutiny he receives. In Kieran, Deva has a partner in her occasional outings and troublemake, and Darren has someone he can be bring to court that he knows will help convince and soothe over any issues. He is the perfect brother, if only he would stop leaving frogs in his siblings' beds.

Brilliant blue eyes, sparkling with mischief and humor peek out from beneath a mop of shaggy hair the color of crimson sunrise. A man of lean, athletic build, Kieran has the look of a man used to physical work, but not the rugged training of the bulky martial warriors. A friendly sort, his grin can brighten up the coldest night, alongside a rich, fiery sense of humor. Notable amongst the northern tribes, Kieran doesn't wear the full beard like most men, preferring his fair complexion to be clean shaven, allowing that smile to dominate his features. He speaks with a raucous, booming sound, his laugh echoing against the landscape.

Kieran strikes a balance between his two older siblings. Like his sister, Deva, he loves having the freedom to live life as he wants; however, unlikes his sister, he is a troublemaker through-and-through. He gladly adds grey hairs to the heads of friends and family. He manages to avoid much repercussion for his actions, though, because, like his brother, he always knows what to say and to whom. Kieran serves as a good companion to both of his siblings because of this. Deva and he can head out for a wild night on the town, and the next morning he can be with his brother comfortably engaging in the politics of court. In the end, though, he is always keeping an eye out for opportunities - for fun, for trouble, and for ways to advance his and his family's agendas.
