Description
Valentina is a noblewoman through and through. Everything from her poise to her flawless complexion speaks of gentility and an easy grace. Blonde hair falls below her shoulders in loosely-curled cascades of gold. Her features are soft, naturally feminine, with blue-gray eyes. She has a way of smiling that lights up her face, almost infectious in its charm, carving dimples into her cheeks as it makes itself known. Her physique is slender, full of feminine curves, flattering elegance, as well as soft in that way of a woman who has never done an honest day's work in her entire life.
Personality
Known to be a bit of a chinwag and a prolific gossiper, Valentina nevertheless maintains a studiously friendly and charming disposition. Engaging, though a bit painfully optimistic and not always firing on all cylinders, she is quick to provide a smile to mask other feelings. Typically avoids direct confrontations and overly-prone to flattery.
Background
Francesco Argento was never a man to be satisfied simply, and even before Valentina was born the man had political plans for his offspring. His daughter, however, despite all the education and indoctrination, would not fall in line, and very early got shipped to Duke Piero Pravus' court as a failure, proclaimed the Dark Sun of Nilanza by her own father.
Being raised among the Pravus of Setarco allowed Valentina to understand their familial structure, their customs and befriend them. They were more like her family than the Stormborn of Nilanza ever were. In time, she would grow to enjoy the Silken City and its Sins, at ease with her place.
Her destiny, however, came calling with the death of Duchess Lucia Pravus. Giving all her support to Duke Piero during his mourning period, Valentina would end up engaged and married to the Duke himself, a union born of sentiment and no political gain. Life was good again, but the Argento would soon strike.
The vassals of Pravus rebelled and forced Piero's older daughter's hand, initiating a conflict that would end in tears as Duke Piero Pravus met his demise, assassinated in the Pravus Keep.
Valentina was desolated, and ruled briefly while Belladonna waged war, abdicating and passing on the mantle to the true heir when she was back. Well-liked by the population for giving their beloved Piero happiness again, and leading them true as his wife, Valentina was then named Steward of Setarco.
By upbringing, title and marriage, she would then be a Sin, despite her origins as a Stormborn.
