Description
Tall, slim and darkly handsome, the man formerly known as Mydas and now going by Ettore clashes with the typical Lycene appearance on noticeable points. For one, very little of his skin shows. Favouring outfits that cover him from neck to toe, he is often seen wearing gloves no matter the season, even as he avoids public bathing or swimming. A second, possibly more important point, is his eyes. Golden like a wolf's, they're striking, almost eerie, especially when his gaze is focused with unblinking intensity. The last point, his glacial exterior, does not help at all the impression. Polite, and with the warmth of the Everwinter, Ettore shows the fire of the Lyceum containing the frost of the North.
Personality
Once known as Mydas, Ettore is a confident man, a mountain upon which one may rely, lean against to catch one's breath, knowing it will be there, immovable. He is no volcano, instead one of the tall spires found in the far north, cold yet no less solid. Polite and with a sharp, nimble tongue, he prefers to get to the heart of things rather than dance around it. Yet despite that preference, he is a patient, cautious man, ever calculating, ever weighting.
Background
Once, Ettore was known as Lord Mydas Nightgold. Raised in the far North, the eldest of three siblings who lost their mother far too early on, he came to Arx as Nightgold's master of coins, though quickly showed an aptitude for scholarly pursuits.
Involved during the War of Silence as a logistics expert, Mydas also found the time to join the Mirrormasks and become a familiar sight beneath his mask of swirling stygian and iridescite. His duties grew after the end of the war, after receiving Aviaron's Peak as his lands, to rule after the previous occupants were killed to the last by the Bringers and their forces.
It is at that time that he married Princess Freja Redrain, though their union was tragically short. Found beaten to death, she left Mydas a widower, and alone before the many plans they had made for their new home. Would he press on alone? Would he marry again? No, he would not, for before he was Marquis Mydas Acheron, before he was Lord Mydas Nightgold, he was Prince Ettore Velenosa.
And the time has come for his return home.
