  Beaumont likes to live a little dangerously. Not too dangerously - he is a Prince, after all, fighting nonlethal duels for money and prestige. If that lifetsyle pits him against and amongst more unsavory types than your average Knightly man, it's not something he's terribly bitter (or concerned) about. Confident and personable, he finds little trouble fitting in and finding something to laugh over with nearly anyone. He can be impulsive and hot-tempered, though, finding most of his fellow Champions a bit too quick to become familiar. His anger is ususally as brief as it is sudden, and he's not too proud to diffuse the tension diplomatically.

She loved her father, and his good heart very much, even as she saw how it destroyed him. It makes her determined, shrewd, and extremely capable of manipulative intrigue but she is well aware that ruthless maneuvers undermines her father's legacy and the hopes he cherished that she would follow him as an honorable, kindhearted ruler. For her enemies, she represents a contradiction of a dangerously charming woman that can be a deadly, conniving adversary yet remains capable of confounding acts of generosity and compassion that leaves opponents bemused on what could possibly be her hidden motive. Entirely endearing if not sometimes downright comedic, his worrisome nature and the associated preparedness that comes along with it have lead to Alecto being a brilliant improvisor when problems actually do arise. As a result, he has routinely found himself promoted to positions he doesn't feel the least bit qualified for, even if the irrationality of some of his more imaginative concerns have given others reason to doubt his intuition in the past. Although Alecto's true motivations are generally kept private, it can be said that he values his relationships over his achievements, and when something threatens someone he cares about, he has been known to use all the means at his disposal to extinguish that threat.. barring putting himself in actual physical danger, of course! Hahaha! He is gentle and good when his environment allows, but he does recognize that these virtues aren't always compatible with solving certain problems, and he does fancy himself a problem solver.

  Brave, dutiful, determined, generous, unyielding, these traits all described the man Raziel once was. The scion of Bisland, later a member of the King's Own, he was a good man, an honourable man. His devotion to the Gods was outmatched only by his loyalty to the Crown and the Compact, and had he not become a member of the King's Own, he very well could have followed the path of Templar instead. Yet the man he was has long perished, burnt away in the flames. What softness there was to temper the strength of mind and soul have turned to ash, leaving behind cynicism and bitterness combined with that same unyielding will and determination. Dutifulness and bravery have likewise been changed, wielding not sword into darkness, but the grim light of truth to dispel comforting lies and delusions. Even outside of his work, he takes satisfaction in exposing others to their own contradictions, confronting them on their deeply held convictions, as Inquisitor and Mirrormask both. His friends are few, yet those that are have all been tested by the man's sharp tongue and intellect and, once found worthy, are offered genuine respect in turn. Raziel is a complicated man, with contradictions running deeper than the eye can see, made all the more confusing by the man's intent.

  Bree's family always said that ever since she was born the sun was just a little bit dimmer, because it gave part of its light to Bree. She has always been addicted to stories, and becoming the hero of those stories. She is radiance and generally the most optimistic person in the room. It is hard to dim her mood. It is extremely difficult to take away from her jubilance. Bree is extremely talented at finding the silver lining in things. And also extremely good at shrugging things off. If people don't like her upbeat attitude, she is rarely offended. She is aware that she is somewhat naive that her bright and excitable nature could lead some to take advantage of her... But she's pretty sure that won't happen! Why would people do that when you're nice to them! She takes everything about Gild VERY seriously, and is a firm believer that all problems in the world can either be stabbed to death with her blade, or hugged to death. But not really death. Just until it's brought around. Even with her upbeat attitude, she's still a soldier. So at times she can be slightly offputting when she's being so cheery after she's just felled an enemy of the compact, blood still on her blade.

  Breidaia has a booming, wide personality that takes the world by the horns. Not for her the days of living quietly at the fireside, shrinking away from the plate full of delicious possibilities. She has gained refinement over the years, but that hasn't dulled her enthusiasm more than a shade. The expectations to pony up and behave well with a crew rather than acting the freewheeling hellion still have their effect. Beneath the polite graces, a veneer only skin deep, lies the vigorous fire that will sail to unknown shores and go where others might fear to sail or tread. She has a thorough appreciation of risk and an appetite for adventure. But Breidaia too is the leader and mother hen over those under her charge, and she constantly takes measures to assure their safety. She isn't reckless or irresponsible, but an irrepressible force no more contained than the sea.
