Wellmax was born to a family of moderate wealth and importance, but they weren't in positions of high power. His family encouraged him to see the world, which they regretted not doing at his age. He left the house at 17, and hasn't returned since. He collected and traded goods of high value to collectors with what he considered to be good stories behind them.

Wellmax is a wandering trader who likes to accumulate and spend as much wealth as possible and collect stories of his own and others. He has no home, but does not mind that and rarely gets lonely. He is generally in high spirits. His ultimate goal is to live a storied and satisfying life and does eventually like the idea of starting his own lordship of some kind.

Wellmax is adrift, having no real place of belonging. As such he has never had a real home, or many long-term friendships. His main goal is making money, and accumulating stories. He would rather have a taste of everything in life, then only what he likes. He would not mind eventually settling down in a position of power, but only if he was at the top.
