Originally being born to life as a thrall, Veronique was lucky enough to be freed during the recent proclamations. Any family she had was broken up long ago, and with no desire to remain in the dark memories of her life up to this point, she migrated to Nilanza, a land with as broken a history as their own. Through merit Veronique rose into notice, working first as a guard in the Nilanza port, and then ascending the ranks as a sailor and quartermaster upon a ship. Necessity brought her to oversee the safety of the ship during times of boarding by pirates. Recently, when the Redreef Kismet Carnival was attacked and the call went out for those to join the new Merchant Marines that were being formed to protect the carnivals and breweries throughout Arvum, she came to notice, her story catching the eye of Venturo and securing her a place at the top of the hierarchy.

Hair the color of burnt umber falls down to the woman's shoulders, framing her face in loose waves. It is left free, save for a single thin braid that follows the curve of her face on the left, tied off with a small bit of leather. Her eyes are a verdant green, holding an intense sense of watchfulness to them. A slightly upturned nose sits above full, unpainted lips. Her skin is on the paler side of olive, marked slightly by time spent at sea and beneath the sun. She stands at just slightly above average for a woman, and while she is not without feminine curves, there is a thinness of form that speaks of years of hard living and constant activity.
