When her master married she was made to learn the art of alchemy so her master could keep his new bride happy with gifts of unique scents and beauty creams along with those expensive baubles and gowns. Her skills allowed the pair to live well and travel without care. The announcement of the end of Thralldom saw Swift's contract unexpectedly bought out, leaving her free but adrift in the world. She continued to travel for a time, meeting a number of interesting people along the way, including the Grayhope family. Brought into the fold and adopted into their ranks, Swift has finally started to come into her own.
