Micaela was born to a lesser-known noble family of the Lyceum. Hardly more than merchants really, they were the noble family who were rumored to have bought the title - or certainly her father bought nobility in marriage to her mother, he being a very wealthy merchant before he married the impoverished daughter of a minor house. That marriage produced only a single child, and Micaela found herself alone in the world when her parents died when she was barely twenty. She married then, a charming young man with whom she was wildly in love, but before they could have any children, he too was killed in a carriage accident. But for a chance circumstance, a minor riding accident that kept her at home with a horrible headache, she would have died with him. Instead she was widowed, alone once more, and tired of struggling to rule her small lands well and wisely and alone. When offered the opportunity to join the Malespero family with Lianne, a distant cousin of her late husband's at its head, and unite their lands she - well, she didn't leap at it, she sort of drifted in that general direction, joining her fortunes to the Malesperos in an alliance that would hopefully work for all.

Tall and lithe, Micaela is a willowy sort that moves with a dreamy sort of meandering that bespeaks very little focus on the world around her. Her gestures are slow and fluid. Her seafoam green eyes rarely focus on any one thing, drifting off as her attention shifts. Even her honey-colored hair is curly and wispy, refusing to be tamed - even in a braid, little wisps drift free.

With a tendency for dreamy maunderings and lapsing into long silences, Micaela is a woman soft in demeanor and rarely focused on the world around her. She seems to float through life rarely paying attention to any one thing, rather living in a dream world of her own devising. When she does focus though, she tends to offer pointed commentary - but then drifts away again almost immediately.
