%TKyden started life as an orphan in Arx, though she remembers little of the city she's recently returned to. She was adopted at an incredibly young age for the sole purpose of being raised as a deckhand upon a ship that ended up being owned by pirates. Whether this was charity, or some sick plan to breed the perfect sailor is unknown, as the ship in question crashed along the shore of the Navegant when she was but 13 years old. She washed ashore on the island of Escuma, where she spent most of her time living off charity and theft. %TNot much is known about her time amongst the pirates, nor her time spent upon Escuma, but it is there that she began to sculpt. Obsessively. Ceaselessly. There were natural resources nearby, but she soon grew tired of raw clay and mud. She began to steal more and more, but amateur criminals do not last long in such small populaces, and soon she was being shipped off to spend some quality time as a Thrall in Donrai's workgangs. %TUnfortunately, she had little desire to work on anything but her mad art, and her insolence had her in and out of the dungeons, until one day, she simply disappeared...

Kyden is all long, slinky limbs and trim, sylphlike features. Her serpentine figure borders on malnourished; the woman sporting a graceful, swan-like neck that bleeds down into a slender but curved body that looks as if it could dance upon the wind. Her cheekbones are gaunt and high, her face kittenish and cat-like in appearance; lips pushed up below a small nose, eyes wide and owlish. Her hair is an inky midnight, tangled to her shoulders in voluminous tendrils, chaos-cut bangs dangling in front of pupils that hold an expression stuck somewhere between trauma-induced maturity and childlike innocence.

%TKyden is obsessed with her art. It is her family. Her one true love. It's more important than her own well being; more important than anything else ever known. Above all, there's the sculptures she creates. She is obsessive about them, and when she finishes one, she immediately starts another. As if searching for some answer in the clay. Unfortunately, for someone so poor, sculpting is a rather expensive hobby. And she funds it through any means necessary... %TAt times, Kyden is callous; near emotionless. When she's not manically working on her art, she can seem almost eternally bored - but in an odd way, that she sort of enjoys. A nihilistic contentment with the quiet, doomed mundanity of human life. Her personality is a cycle. She puts it all into her art, energetic and insanely focused, before falling into a state of lounging, unproductive despair; almost similar to some kind of withdrawal. When it comes to her own art, she is never satisfied with the results. %TThere is something of a wall around Kyden's heart. She is guarded, and wary about getting close to people. But to her friends - those who break through the dismissive boredom - she is fiercely loyal. %T
