Sent away at an relatively early age to school and study in both Southern and Oathland cities, Ford gained unique and certain sensibilities from those 'mainlanders'. In a way he's a child of two worlds. This, was by the design of his father, Denholm Kennex knew what Thrax politics were like. His father knew that Thrax begets Thrax in an ever spinning wheel. So Denholm endeavored to take the Thrax out of his son, he needed a Thrax that wasn't Thrax to rule Stormward. And that's exactly what he got. When Ford returned to Stormward after word his father had passed in his sleep, the hold itself was already being courted for coup by an overeager captain with ambitions far larger than his status. The captain having positioned his ships in a way to blockade Stormward from the rest of the world. It's unknown precisely what happened, but within a week's time, the captain and all his ships had disappeared. While it was initially thought the would-be usurper and his cohorts had fled, months passed with no trace of them, and servants in Stormwald have refused to ever speak of what occurred.

Sharp, stern, and striking features make Ford equal parts eye-catchingly attractive, and distinctly intimidating. Tall, and imposing, he has a body of sculpted lean muscle and extensive cardio. He keeps his short, but still long enough to dreamily fall across his brow, dark golden hair styled backwards at any given moment. Preferring to keep himself well kept and presentable even while out at sea, if it weren't for his ever present tan and the constant squint of a man who's been out in the sun too long, you'd never guess him to be a seafaring type.

Well-learned and sociable, Ford can slide easily between the raucous drinking halls of Northern holds to genteel and stuffy soirees of Oathland gatherings and remain entirely comfortable. He wears humor and charm on his sleeve, yet he keeps an undercurrent of vicious threat just beneath the cuff. Though despite this, it's clear that even in his stature and mannerisms, he is not your typical Thrax vassal. Ford Kennex is exactly the man you want to be around, be it drinking, talking, dancing, or fighting.
