The way he saw it there were only a handful of ways: He could go Reaver and gain infamy that way, be the Lord of his own Ship. He could try and become a knight but really, there was to much pressure to be something he was not and it would largely end up a disgrace. He could swear himself to the Faith (Hah!), or the Crown (Who remembers Iron Guardsman Number Thirty-seven hundred and two?), but in the end he knew what he would have to do. The only path off the streets and to the land of riches was either a Merchant, or something that could garner so much fame it didn't matter that he was from the streets... When he was eight years old Renato began training to fight. It wasn't the easiest going as his family didn't have money to get him training... so he went the other route. He got in fights. A lot of them. He became a complete and total rapscallion but he finally got noticed enough to gain a patron and his training began officially. In the end it was the Pirate King's fleet that ended up ruining things for Renato, his patron was one of the many many dead in Setarco, and the only way he was going to succeed was by diving in. Off to Arx he went to join the Champions Guild, ready or not!to join the Champions Guild, ready or not!)
