- Dagon Tyde + (Most in House Thrax are weaned upon tales … Most in House Thrax are weaned upon tales of hard men in hard times, pragmatic men who brutally do anything necessary for victory. Dagon’s father Elton was instead a more gentle sort, much to the consternation and disappointment of Dagon’s grandfather, Prince Donrai Thrax, who is every bit as brutal and ruthless as any Thraxian vassal could hope for. But Prince Elton was a quiet dreamer who raised Dagon upon tales of knighthood, chivalry and honor, hoping to not have a brutish reaver as a son, though it is doubtful he ever could have suspected how closely his lessons would have been taken to heart. Dagon grew up a true idealist, one who is determined to change the way that House Thrax is perceived… much to the consternation of many of his fellows in Maelstrom. After his father’s death during the House Tyde rebellion, the very young Dagon dedicated himself to knightly ideals. He -never- lies and is visibly uncomfortable with anything like a half-truth: he takes honesty to a fault. He is unfailingly polite in a true courtly fashion, standing in marked contrast to the crass way his fellows comport themselves in House Thrax, though he never attempts to shame them conducts himself with the quiet humility that doesn’t pass judgement on his fellows. He is dedicated to the defense of the weak and helpless, taking this to the old fashioned and romanticized ideal as a defender of women, while placing a great value on purity. In the year 1006, Donrai Thrax died under mysterious circumstances, leaving the seat of High Lord of Maelstrom open for the rightful heir, Dagon Thrax, to take. However, it was not to be. Prince Victus Thrax challenged Dagon to a duel to the death for the right to rule. Accepting, as is honorable, Dagon lost that duel -- and with it, his inheritance. Victus spared Dagon his life, and that very night Dagon bent the knee to High Lord Victus Thrax, on the single condition that he would be given Margot Tyde’s hand in marriage. This came as a shock to many in Arvum. After all, the Tyde Rebellion had killed thousands in Maelstrom, including Dagon’s father. To Dagon though, it seemed the best way to make good on the wishes of both Elton Thrax and Titus Tyde, and find peace within Maelstrom under the new regime. Now Duke Tyde, Dagon has renounced his claims to his birthright, and instead serves as Sword, and protector of Maelstrom, while commanding the northern head of the Leviathan as Voice, under his wife Duchess Margot Tyde.Voice, under his wife Duchess Margot Tyde.)
