He has come up from a simple commoner to being on the edge of deserving elevated status into peerage. Sal has a had a close friendship and association with Appolonia Seraceni and has often discuss with her the ambition to build bigger ships. Vessels that would make the trip to distant lands and Eurus easier. He has had loose designs but never focussed or had the resources to settle on the project long enough to make headway. It is understood that Sal holds the keys to the defense and well being of House Seraceni. He is rewarded, well regarded, and often treated more like family than an outsider.
