Description
Everything about Eleyna seems delicate; from the pale hue of her skin to the fragile pink of her soft lips. Yet, in her cold blue eyes there is an icy fierceness, a way of peering at the world and seeing the truth in it. Eleyna's voice is a startling contrast to her fragile appearance; being a surprisingly husky purr.
Personality
Few would ever make the error of calling Eleyna 'sweet' or 'kind'. Despite her doll-like appearance, this princess is made of ice. Composed, educated, and articulate, Eleyna exemplifies the virtues of House Velenosa. To outsiders, she offers only witty smiles and a sharp tongue. To her family and loved ones, cracks of warmth and humor break through the ice. Yet, beneath the frozen exterior, the occasional deep current of sadness can be faintly detected before it disappears once again beneath duty and devotion. Her keen intelligence and observation skills are used for the benefit of the family, always. She's proven her loyalty to her House many times and would do so again in a heartbeat.
Background
Eleyna's earliest memories are of a childhood spent with her beloved cousins. While she was not likely to rule, she was still given the same education, the same lessons in power and manipulation. A childhood spent together also fostered love and devotion in Eleyna, a willingness to do whatever was needed so that the Velenosa family would prosper.
Her first opportunity came just after her eighteenth birthday. A union was proposed with a wealthy vassal that would strengthen alliances between Houses. Eleyna accepted the match and was married soon after. Within six months, her husband found death with his nightly glass of wine. Not exactly uncommon in the Lyceum. A few months after that, Eleyna accepted another match, this with a handsome and hot-headed young Duke. After two years, Eleyna's second husband was dead as well in a duel that some vicious tongues whispered Eleyna had instigated herself through flirtations with her husband's own cousin.
After a year of mourning, Eleyna was married a third time. This time to an older lord with whom House Velenosa sought to cement loyalties. Her third husband appeared to spoil and pamper his young wife, making for what seemed to be a happy marriage. Tragedy struck when this husband met with a hunting accident that left him with an arrow through his neck and Eleyna as a widow, once again.
Now, Eleyna's reputation in the Lyceum is as the black widow of House Velenosa. It is whispered that her touch is as poisonous as an unattended wine glass at a dinner party. Unsurprisingly, no further offers of marriage have come for her. Tiring of the whispers and rumors despite her proven innocence, Eleyna has decided to join her cousins in Arx, convinced that she can be of more use there than as a topic of scandal in Lenosia.
