Description

Above average in height, Ysbail is a young woman of athletic build and fair of face. Her dusky skin always seems to hold a light tan tone no matter the time of year. Platinum blond hair sits in a wild shock atop her head, long bangs framing her face and drifting around her shoulders, and a pair of braids at the back of her head trail nearly all the way to her ankles. Feathers, beads, and assorted tiny carved wooden figurines decorate her hair. Darker blond brows arch over deep blue eyes slanted to an exotic tilt and framed by thick black lashes. Her nose is straight and slender with a slight flare of the nostrils and set just above a wide and mobile mouth that seems peerhaps a touch too big for her face. She bears shamanistic tattoos on her forehead and cheeks, down her arms, the backs of her hands, running from her hips down the front and side of her legs, even the tops of her feet haven't escaped the tattoos.

Personality

The exuberance of youth encapsulates an old soul in Ysbail, creating an interesting dichotomy of introspection wrapped in effervescent charm. Though her sense of wonder can sometimes be mistaken for naivete, she carries the wisdom passed down to her through generations of shamans. Her curiosity and unending quest for seeking out hidden corners and undiscovered reaches can get her into trouble when she becomes too involved in the mystery before her to watch where she steps. There is hope that with age and experience, caution will help to temper her curiosity, but for now her inquisitive nature has a tendency to lead her.

Background

Raised in the harsh climate of the stormwall, Ysbail's tribe had made their home amongst the blackwoods trees on the edge of Crovane land. As eldest daughter of the tribe's chieftain, she was put under the tutelage of the tribe's shaman to better help guide her people. Like most Abandoned, she was taught to hunt and as a Northerner, she learned how to survive the harsher climates. As such, she has a somewhat skewed perspective on life. She has embraced her way of life wholeheartedly and loved nothing more than to wander the wilds and seek out spiritual enlightenment amongst nature.

Within the last year, however, something happened that drove the young shaman to plead with her father to seek the protection of the Compact. The tribe has since bent the knee to their Crovane neighbors, adding their warriors and craftsmen to the household while receiving the Duke's protection. Ysbail herself has made the dangerous trek to Arx to better offer what spiritual guidance she can to the new Duke.
