Description

Valentina is a noblewoman through and through. Everything from her poise to her flawless complexion speaks of gentility and an easy grace. Blonde hair falls below her shoulders in loosely-curled cascades of gold. Her features are soft, naturally feminine, with blue-gray eyes. She has a way of smiling that lights up her face, almost infectious in its charm, carving dimples into her cheeks as it makes itself known. Her physique is slender, full of feminine curves, flattering elegance, as well as soft in that way of a woman who has never done an honest day's work in her entire life.

Personality

Known to be a bit of a chinwag and a prolific gossiper, Valentina nevertheless maintains a studiously friendly and charming disposition. Engaging, though a bit painfully optimistic and not always firing on all cylinders, she is quick to provide a smile to mask other feelings. Typically avoids direct confrontations and overly-prone to flattery.

Background

Valentina was born in the prestigious and now destroyed Argento family of Nilanza. Her father, a man whose's ego bruised easily, raised Valentina in envy of their overlords, the Pravus of Setarco. Everything was their fault, even bad crops or illnesses, and he pointed at their every mistake as signs the Pravus time had come. Valentina grew knowing the Argento were worthy.

Valentina's greatest achievement in her climb to power was marrying Elphonse Pravus. The young man had no chance in face of the Argento's manipulations, and although the other Pravus exhibited the sharpness of intellect their family was known for, Elphonse was almost innocent in his stupidity.

Not everything was easy in her seduction attempt. Valentina came to know Elphonse and despise his cowardice and lack of integrity, which both helped her detach herself from the situation and more effectively use him as a tool against his own family to undermine them.

It worked, for a while. She was part of Pravus, part of their life, and Elphonse was a thorn at his sisters' sides. Too much of a thorn, it turned out, as Valentina's creation spun out of control and turned on her as well.

Even as Nilanza was sieged after the betrayal of the Argento and Belladonna's rise to power, Elphonse seemed to take a cruel delight in the deaths of her people, even if he had done nothing to defeat Valentina's father and family, thinking his sister's exploits his. Her venom was never more dangerous than after that.

When Elphonse came crashing down, he crashed violently. Valentina only begged him to go back on his words because she thought Elphonse was the only reason she was alive. But Elphonse was stupid, irrevocably so, and kept at his sister's throat.

Belladonna took his head, and Valentina Pravus, born an Argento, was sure she was next. The duchess didn't strike her down, however. Then name Pravus had earned some mercy, mercy that Valentina would never have given if their roles were reversed.

With her young son's life at stake, Valentina hides her true intentions. For good or bad, she was part of the dreaded family of Setarco, now.
