The Silent War brought heartbreak to the Tulaire family, as Cecil was killed when bringers breached the city. Remy and Charlotte spent many months in mourning. Eventually, by the mentorship of Sister Tiana, Remy came to the discipleship of Gild, and maintained close ties to the Knights of Solace whom he spares no effort to enrich in his brother's memory. In Arx, Remy has been known to speak of the family of the Faith. Though typically opulent, he is known to have fasted and journeyed to holy places far from the rule of the Compact, seeking divine wisdom.
