The depth of water in the "Gulch" can vary from 4.8 meters(16 ft) to 5.8 meters(19 ft) depending on the waves. The width of the channel varies from 12.8 meters(42 ft) to 14.6 meters(48 ft). Timing is crucial for the divers. During the night, they often hold torches while diving.
