Description

Nebulosa's face, blunt-nosed, full-lipped, wicked-bright-eyed, is framed by short-cut wavy black hair, and enlivened by intense personal energy that rarely dims. Her frame is compact, wiry, her complexion is sun-darkened, her skin is here and there marked by shallow scars, most especially on her forearms. One deeper, more prominent scar crosses her chin.

Personality

Curious, incisive, impulsive to the point of reckless, and shamelessly flirtatious, Nebulosa balances her dangerous traits with a fervid sense of justice and a strict ability to compartmentalize. She takes her role as Gemecittas Sword as a dire responsibility, a role to drop all obsessions and petty slights to fill, and no one could accuse her of misusing the family heirloom when tempers run ragged. But outside of her formal duties defending her House, and religious ritual, her rather considerable charm has a spiky undercurrent and she seems to enjoy keeping nearly everyone on their toes. Project unpredictability. Waver on the edge of feeling too much and saying too much, and sometimes cross it.

Background

Nebulosa Zaffria is of a cadet branch of the Zaffra family - she herself is a second cousin to Lady Sylphie. Dedicated to sword training from a young age and prickly enough to get into childish stick fights with her peers, Nebulosas entire life would seem to've been about fighting if she hadn't spent quite so much time studying the faith of the Pantheon, especially philosophies around Vellichor and, of course, Gloria and The Sentinel. Her local reputation was that of a studious hot-head. Well. Couldnt be helped.

As she reached adulthood, her raw propensity with picking physical fights lessened, sublimated (or "sublimated") into a kind of aggravated verbal jousting she knew she could back up at need. She also spent less time with the priests and more time in the darker parts of her community, a turn of events that caused great worry in her immediate family until she foiled a smuggling plot, solved a murder (no one important, but still, a murder!). As a noble hobby, a little irregular, but this effective watching for wrongdoing as well as abilities with the sword, as well as a wit that was not completely out of place in noble society and Zaffria reputation all contributed to being named as Gemecitta Sword by Duke Marco. (She inherited the position from a Rubino-appointed Sword.)
