Description
More than half her face bears the scars of burnt flesh, a livid red expanse of almost scaly skin that creeps from beneath what is quite obviously a wig of stiff brunette curls and stretches across one ruined eye, past an angular chin and continues down her neck. The rest consists of a straight, narrow-bridged nose and a single remaining eye of a rather solemn shade of grey, a face that would likely once have held a slightly fierce kind of beauty. Petite, she is frail with a slight stoop that taints her youth, limbs birdlike with her right hand a scarred and twisted claw with three fingers reduced to stumps.
Personality
Gossip tells of headstrong child who grew into a wilful, difficult youth, curious to a fault and with a talent for getting herself into trouble. She disappeared from public view amidst rumours of some severe accident and is now just venturing back into society, seemingly much changed.
Background
The youngest child and only daughter to Lorton and Isolde Nightgold, Iraia grew up in the mountains with six older brothers. She was a headstrong child with a seemingly insatiable curiosity and appetite for adventure that seemed to know no bounds. Instead of growing up and out of her wilful ways, Iraia became only more fractious and restless, as if in search of an answer to a question she didn't quite know how to ask. It ended in disaster, in a mysterious and almost fatal fire that cost Iraia her looks and almost her life. She retreated from sight and society to recover, secreted away at her childhood home back in Stonedeep for well over a year, little mention of her heard throughout the passing seasons. She is recently returned to Arx, gone to live with cousins in an apparent attempt to rebuild some kind of a life.
