Description
Tall, dark and handsome seems to fit Cadern to a T. He doesn't much look like you're typical Prodigal or Redrain noble, really. No furs, or scars, or the like. No, Cadern prefers smooth silks, soft linens, and well made leather. Dressed to impress just like any city noble. He's typically clean shaven, though now and then, he might sport some stubble if he's too hungover for a shave in the morning. There always seems to be a devil-may-care smirk on his face, that touch of amusement in his eyes at some joke only he knows.
Personality
Cadern is a Prodigal born with the heart of a city boy. While the others of House Ravenseye long for the wooded shores and seas of back home, Cadern views Arx as where he was truly meant to be. Late nights, fine wines, robust whiskeys, beautiful men and dashing women? Yes, please.
Cadern loves a good time, and is something of a prankster as well, typically sweet talking his way out of any consequences. Easily at home in the salon, or the bathhouse as at a war council or hunting lodge, he tends to know just how to fit in, and acclimate himself to the social cues and surroundings.
That said, he's utterly loyal to Ravenseye, and strives to fulfill his duties as Voice, knowing there are many finer points of running the house that his sister just isn't suited for.
Background
Childhood was a little rocky in the earlier years, especially when you have an older sister like Aella, things weren't always happy and she sure wasn't always nice either. She was never out right cruel or hateful but there was some jealousy there in the beginning. Can you blame her, he was the baby and his mother was alive. Thankfully in time that resentment burned away, and even though she continue to pick on him, and at times look like she was actually going to strangle him, there was no doubt that she didn't love him. In fact, he was one of the reasons she was almost always getting herself into trouble.
That would become a running theme for Cadern for most of his life in fact. Always pushing the line, or stepping outside it. And when caught, he never failed to talk is way around or out of it, or both.
Still, he had a quick mind, and a glib tongue, and his father noted both of these traits early in life and saw to it they were fostered so that Cadern could use those gifts to the benefit of his tribe, and later house.
