She loves the Compact, she loves its people, she loves her friends and she loves her city and more than anyone she loves her compatriots in the Silver Swords and the royal family, and that love shows constantly in warm smiles and a bright disposition. It also shows in the way she brooks absolutely no shit from anyone about any of it, that she's incredibly serious when it comes to protecting the things she loves and her lack of tolerance for slacking in any form, especially from anyone who may be in her charge.   Despite her rather severe looks, Adelais isn't always cruel or otherwise unpleasant. She does tend to be a bit reserved, though (although some would qualify her as "dour", if they were being uncharitable). Still, she isn't entirely humorless, even if she sometimes gives the impression that she is. If she feels she has the chance to relax, she opens up a little more - becomes warmer - but most of the time, she feels that she needs to keep herself in control. Her family and their fortunes are her motivation and what she strives to protect - occasionally through unsavory means. But if that means that others don't need to dirty their hands, so much the better. She'll do it for them and they - they can continue without worrying. She's seen some of the uglier sides of life and she's accepted it, but she also knows that there's more to life than just her own wants and her own needs. She also doesn't suffer braggarts well - she's run into enough of those in her own training and fighting that she knows those who talk the loudest are usually covering up for something. That said, Persephone is more often grim-faced than not, her natural expression settling into firm and unforgiving lines that her history have forged. Still, she can't hide the presence she carries with her everywhere, captain of her own ship, leader of a crew, her voice tends to carry when she speaks, and often in tones that brook no refusal. Carrying herself with the confidence of a woman that has earned her place in life through hard work, she has a tendency to play just as hard when she does decide to let loose.

  Dreamy and mild-tempered, Cesare makes good company for just about anyone, though he has an unshakable courage (and a bit of a snarky streak) beneath all that aloof geniality. His position as a Whisper has helped him embrace his sometimes biting wit, as he knows as long as he maintains the proper decorum he is somewhat protected by the order. Jealous young baronsons accosting him in an alley and trying to beat him up aren't really a problem, anymore. Gentle snark aside, Cesare is a young man who finds it hard to focus on the people around him when he's performing, or at large gatherings, but one on one? He is reminded of the beauty that is the wonder of creation in every unique individual. His good looks are undeniable, but his charm, the way he can sometimes focus so intently on one person that they feel they are the most interesting thing in the world? It makes him irresistable.

The one thing guaranteed to sway her is the best interest of her House, and she will sacrifice much to achieve those ends. She has been a knight of House Darkwater for many years, and even though she married into it rather than being born into the bloodline, that makes her no less dedicated. Does that give her a kind of flexible morality? Life is about priorities, and Delfina is willing to do many things for Darkwater's sake. Friends and allies are likely to describe her as kind and generous, amusing and quick to laugh, though not always in a nice way. Of his better qualities there is fierce loyalty and passion in what he deems worthy of it. These outward appearances are the still surface of a body of water with a wild undercurrent just below; out of sight and dangerous. For all of his nonchalance Muiryn is a turbulent man and can be, too quickly, brought to rage. On the battle field this could very well save the life of his kin or the very least see more foes slain. In civilised society it is something akin to letting loose a wild stag in an antiques shop.

Like so many from Pearlspire, he is easy-going until a situation calls for focus. He is friendly and charming without much effort and has the polish of courtly manners even if he lacks mastery of presentation. Given a choice, he would rather be outdoors than in a stuffy salon. Kaldur's primary flaw is that he has learned to ignore fear. In chasing challenge after challenge, he even thrills at it. Cliff-jumping? Swimming depthless waters? Climbing rocks to dizzying heights? He was not only content, but indeed preferred that he was far from the line of succession and he just had to be the greatest knight he could be. Now that leadership is thrust upon him he is proud to bear it, and does his best to inspire confidence in his people. He feels out of his element forced to deal with the courts he has avoided for so long. He is well aware of his shortcoming, but he also knows full well he cannot afford to be seen as nothing more than a mouthpiece for his advisor's agenda. So he tries his best to keep his head above water on a battlefield where he can't just smite his opponents with a sword. It's a work in progress.
