Description

Jason has a light small frame with muscles clearly outlined in his clothing. His short black hair, in the style of someone of middling social status, frames a pale thin face. Besides these traits he is rather unassuming in physical appearance. He carries himself with a confident walk and his grey eyes look as if he's studying everything he looks at.

Personality

Jason comes off as friendly, and very coy. He won't give you a straight answer to anything. He smiles easily, but there's a keen searching intensity in his eyes. As if he's committing everything he sees to memory. Or considering how much coin is in your purse. His charm is beguiling yet you can't help feeling you're in the presence of a person that is more kin to a snake than a man.

Background

The child of a well to do dye merchant Jason led a relatively pampered childhood. He doted on heavily by his mother with gifts and sweets. When he came of age his Father attempted to teach him the art of trade and the economics of the realm. The endgame being for his son to take up a partnership and help grow the company. However, at this point business was difficult due to the local merchants guild ostracizing him due to social faux pas that embarrassed the guild in front of the Count. So, his fellow merchants have been imposing a "tax" on all the goods heading towards his shop as a punishment. Due to this the Elio family had to cut back. Which left Jason without all the usual conveniences and luxuries he was used to. So while he learned from his father in the day, he would go at night and try to steal from merchant homes of his friends who had started to shun his company. His knowledge of the homes payed of in his first couple attempts and had amassed a small hoard of coin, silverware, and spices. However, Jason became over confident and got himself caught by a house guard in his third attempt. He was about to be struck down before the guard recognized it was him. He was flogged, placed in stocks and crippling fines were placed on him that fell on his family. This ruined the family business. The merchants taking full advantage to outcast his father from the guild. Without the protection of the guild his suppliers quickly raised their prices or threatened to take their goods to another merchant. His father couldn't afford to pay it. Within a couple months the dye shop was no more. Jason's mother died due a sickness that swept through the city that attacked her while she was suffering from heart break and stress. His father disappeared shortly after this, under unknown circumstances. . So Jason was left with nothing but the clothes on his flogged back. Ever since he's made a name for himself in the Lower Boroughs as Conman, a thief, but someone that can get the best price from any fence.
