His entire company was decimated and the few that survived all bitterly rebuked their commander to his superiors. Van took the blame and resigned his commission. He turned his focused on becoming a knight in order to follow in the footsteps of his father and hopefully help him become a better commander. Yet he has not changed much. The mercurial young man is still there and though he has learned that actions have consequences. However, knowing Vandorean, it's quite possible that won't be his last disaster.".
