Sometime after he got his first taste of real violence, he developed a distaste of it that many of his fellow Islanders find odd, to say the least. Though his skill at arms has not suffered for it, as those few who have faced him can attest, he simply does not have the relish for combat that many seem to expect from him and his kin. This did not stop him from fighting in the recent war against the Gyre, where, from all accounts, he was quite active in the Battle of Setarco. In the wake of those battles, he returned to Arx with his brother and father rather than going back home.
