Ever since Guinevere's father fell ill, their reputation has shifted from one of respect, to one of skepticism. Her father, Josef, was once honored as a simple and strident soldier, but in his old age, he has fallen mentally ill and spouts nonesense that puts any who hear it on edge, talking of demons and death and telling gruesome fictious stories that he genuinely tries to portray as real. Few people are even willing to go near the Priory house especially when Old Crackpot Josef is enjoying a few precious moments of sunlight outside. Only Guinevere seems capable of keeping her father calm when he's raving, especially considering she's the only one who'll approach the man nowadays. Even her mother is keeping a notable distance. It's perhaps on the pity of Josef's sorry state that more people aren't suspicious, rather than just skeptical, especially considering all the weird circumstances that now surround the Priory household. Strange happenings oft occur at night within the house; fires, odd smells and smoke. It's reported at times, but it's becoming more and more rare for the reports to yield any results. Too often the guards who know or have heard the tale of Josef leave with a quiet request upon seeing the sorry state of the Priory household. It's a wonder that the family is even able to continue existing as "comfortably" as it does with just Guinevere's mother bringing in the bulk of the income through baking. However, it's well-known that the fires, the odd smells, all come from Guinevere and her odd "habits." These are seldom brought up and only in whispers behind closed doors though the way Guinevere always seems to come across the coin the family needs leaves one to wonder if not everyone thinks the Priory household is as crazy as they say.Priory household is as crazy as they say.)
