His fruitful life was suddenly upended when a band of brigands raided their settlement after initially being denied food and shelter. His family was brutally massacred in the attack, and he was severely wounded and saved only by the grace of the Crimson Blades, who happened by while on an assignment for one of their clients. The brigands were swiftly disposed and a tramautized Kamon was taken into their care. Plagued with survivor's guilt, but feeling obligated to repay their kindness towards him, the young man agreed to join their ranks to lend them his useful skills in medicine.
