Description

Princess Natalia Grayson is sultry in a way that inspires devotees of Jayus to create artistic masterpieces that become legend within their lifetimes. The lines of her figure curve to perfection, femininity embodied. A wealth of luscious curls, the color of spun gold and sweet cream fall in a torrent of delicate loveliness, framing her divine features. Porcelain skin glows in rose health, giving her a sense of pure life that invigorates most that behold her. Eyes the color of a spring sky, framed by thick lashes take in the world around her, warm and inviting, or cold and ruthless depending on her desires. She carries herself with an air of utter confidence, knowing exactly what she wants and how she will get it.

Personality

Natalia knows who and what she is. Her utter confidence can come across as egoism or pretentiousness, and she's all right with that. She knows her worth, and what the worth of others are. There's a necessity to play the game of politics, to get what she wants, and she's adept at navigating those waters, so those that are not worth being in her presence do not tax her overlong. She can be genuinely kind and compassionate when it suits her, and when being haughty will hold her back. She likes to seek out new challenges, giving herself private goals and seeing how quickly she can obtain a pretty thing, maneuver an ally into position, or make a staunch Valardin clergyman blush and want her. She loves her games, and pushing the limits to the very edge, without crossing the line (in any obvious way) to cause her more trouble than she wants. She is a force of nature, and lives every moment as such.

Background

Natalia doesn't consider herself spoiled, of course, even though she happens to be (in her very humble opinion) a ravishingly beautiful princess of the greatest house in Arvum and a distant cousin of the king. It simply is just a tragic lack of sufficiently cultured tastes if others fail to appreciate her, as she is very much near perfection. She learned from an early age that while the race might go to the swift or the fight to the strong, the real influence goes to the most charming and beautiful. And if individuals have something she desires, or might be even a little useful, she can be disarmingly charming indeed. Not that she doesn't have other pursuits besides winning friends and influencing people. She rejoices in fashion, seeing every possible style as an expression and statement, even if some statements can be shamelessly misleading and used to lead the unwary astray with messages they cannot help but misinterpret. While House Velenosa might consider themselves the reigning monarchs of fashion, Princess Natalia has no intention of allowing that to pass by unchallenged, and looks forward to dethroning any pretenders clinging to the mantle of the fairest of them all.

Natalia was sent to Arx by her immediate family, the more distantly related to the crown Graysons of Grayhold, after two vassals (a knight and a son of a baron) fought a duel over her. Natalia was, of course, completely blameless in that unfortunate affair, but her parents thought it best she be sent to court where the more senior members of the family could help make certain she stays out of trouble. And, presumably, she might learn a thing or two about politics and be able to help the family in the Assembly of Peers. As for Natalia, she would never deny being ambitious, and it is typical for her that a 'punishment' like being sent to Arx might have been precisely what she wanted.
