Description

Tall and willowy, Tatyana is on the slender side, but carries herself with as much poise as uncertainty. There is a beauty in her wide, dark ocean blue eyes, which seem at times as fathomless as the sea itself. Her Honey-blonde hair reaches the small of her back when left free to, though most often is arranged in elaborate Islander styles. The edge of fragility in her beauty is what makes her stand out as much as sun-kissed skin and long legs.

Personality

Tatyana was always a serious child, she kept quiet and to herself often, listening far more often than she spoke. As an adult she is similar, with an ability to read people and situations that is exceptionally impressive. It should not be expected that being a thinker means she is a wallflower, far from it, Tati enjoys people and parties and is thrilled by the new and the interesting. Very few know her well enough to correctly guess at what she is truly thinking, for the image she presents is near-flawless, and its hidden depths rarely realized.

Background

Tatyana Grimhall was born sixth in Harald and Anneke Grimhall’s large brood, a position that put her comfortably in the middle of her siblings. She was brought up in the manner of the traditionalist house most well known for ‘Trying to Out-Thrax the Thraxians”. This meant that though part of a close-knit family, she spent more time with her mother and sisters than her father and brothers. The girls were educated to be scholars, lawyers, philosophers, and the power behind the greatest houses. The boys raised to fight and reave and govern, but all of the children understood that their places in the world depended on one another.

It was easy to be overlooked as the sixth child of a cousin of the Ducal line. It was less easy to overlook such a child when she proved to be a quick study of people, history, politics, and any other subject she put her mind to. When the Grim Duke Harald took his position as head of house and Duke of Grihem’s Pont, Tatyana was growing up, and watching wide-eyed as her immediate world changed so drastically. Her mother was quick to make Grimhold the family seat and to conduct herself in a manner befitting a Duchess-Consort, and she raised her daughters to the very same. Poised, learned, Tatyana poses a challenge to those who assume that Islanders are anything less than a diverse people with strong values and ironclad traditions.

It is in her study of the law that Tatyana finally realized what her role would be in continuing those traditions. She would be the greatest legal scholar of her time, not only serving her role as lawyer in the courts, but in advising those creating and refining law in Grihem’s Point. Now poised to take her place in history, Tatyana joins her family in Arx.
