Born to Duncan and Onora of house Harthall, Islin was one of several children. He grew up among the nobility, learning the arts needed to be a proper gentleman. That said he was always an adventurous sort. He learned to fight with a sword, favoring quickness over pure brute strength in most cases. He was a lean and quick sort, his body being just as quick as his tongue in most cases. Learning how to sail and command the attention of his fellow men he wound up becoming a captain in the Harthall merchant fleet by the time he turned twenty. He developed a bit of a reputation among his fellow sailors for being willing to take risks no one else would go near and come out mostly unscathed at worst. He was followed through life with a rather random sense of luck that in some cases that was balanced by occasional periods of time where people swore he was cursed. Still his ability to fight and talk his way out of tricky situations has served him well...so far. Now he has come to Arx and rumors have it that his family may be seeking a marriage match for the wild hearted Lord.

Silky curls of pitch black sit neatly atop a face that while handsome also bares a certain softness to it. Those curls while gently windswept at times are kept neatly brushed and well cared for. Straight eyebrows sit over eyes of a soft sea hued blue with subtle tones of green swirling in their depths. His skin is smooth, pale but not overly so. The lean and well toned body he possesses hints at a past spent training in speed and agility, his muscle tone subtle and light but still very much present.

Carefree bordering on careless Islin Harthall is something of a wild spirit. He loves to take risks and is quite good at coming out on top after doing so. He drinks heavily, gambles often and is quick to laugh. Some might find with further examination of his character he has a fairly dark sense of humor and a strong devotion to the Queen of Endings which speaks of a deeper personality than one might first suspect. However despite his easy going nature he is still very loyal to his family and liege, obeying direct orders easily and without question.
