Description
Though the Dominus sets aside his family and is beholden to only the crown and the gods, the patrician features distinctive of the oldest blood in House Valardin are unmistakable in Fawkuhl's handsome visage. The carefully coiffed white hair and aquiline nose does much to support Dominus Fawkuhl's dignified countenance, even without the strongly lined features that often make his jaw set in a perpetual frown. Despite his relative youth, the Dominus carries himself with the immense dignity of his austere station, though occasionally a dangerous light of fervor touches his grey eyes.
Personality
On the surface, he's all warm and beatific smiles that bring a radiance to his countenance. Fawkuhl projects the serenity and grace expected of the Dominus, but one only has to see him in private to see the iron will of a man who may truly believe he is the closest living being to the gods. An imposing presence by sheer force of personality, he projects the domineering nature that believes he safeguards the souls of all in Arvum.
Background
Younger children of great houses that are extremely unlikely to ever sit as high lord are often encouraged to pursue other avenues for power for their families, and Fawkuhl felt an extremely early drive to make his mark in the Faith of the Pantheon. A precocious child that was marked by an early fervor for the Faith and the theology behind the different gods, he became a priest of the Pantheon while still a teenager. Even though in theory all priests of the Pantheon are equal and renounce their ties to their families as they take their vows, being the younger brother of a high lord cleared the way inside an institution that had historically been dominated by House Valardin. A popular, effective orator that was well regarded, he was still a surprise nomination for Dominus by the Legates when the previous elderly Dominus died of heart failure, but not before specifically adopting Fawkuhl as a protege and saying he 'saw the mark of the gods in him'. He was appointed Dominus unanimously by the Convocation of the Faith.
