A soldier, born and bled. He is no behemoth nor a willowy man. His shoulders are broad and chest thick with years of training. But those shoulders seem to bear the weight of the world, pressing him down and causing handsome features to appear harsh. It is rare to see a smile, but when one comes, it's a winsome thing.

Personality

Prone to bouts of severity, Rane tends to focus on tasks at hand at the demise of most everything else. His pursuits are grounded in practicality: complete step one in order to move on to step two and so on. He's a martial man, learned in the ways of both defending and taking lives. The doing so has left its mark, only adding to that solemn nature.

Background

A distant cousin to Kael Keaton, Rane has ever been focused on his family and fealty. As a young boy, he fought with wooden weapons. When he came of age, the lethality of his skills with weaponry had advanced so far as to command great respect and prestige among his peers. There was only ever a singular focus, driven into him by his family and instructors: duty. Duty to the Oathlands, his family, and those unable to defend themselves. Idealistic were the teachings, to the point that there was room for little else but perfection and pure obedience in the adherence to that tenet.

He rarely made time for pleasure or freedoms when so often things need tending to keep the realm safe; safe from threats, safe from heresy, safe from distraction. Rane commanded the Timberwolves, a contingent of Keaton soldiers stationed at Farfield Watch that bordered the newly impassable road to Acorn Hill.
